Scott is a longtime stick shift guy, who has done tons of stick shift swaps and has daily driven stick cars for years. So when he made a small mistake on the install of his McLeod RXT clutch during a Magnum 6 speed conversion from American Powertrain, it was sort of disheartening. Thankfully, the gang at McLeod helped him figure out the issue and that’s what the video is about. Check it out.

Video Description:

The clutch I installed in my 65 Chevy Impala, Project Evil Orchid, went bad on day 1 of Rocky Mountain Race Week, RMRW 1.0, last year. I need to find out what happened. What did I do wrong? The BluePrint Engines Power Adder small block 400 has been running great, as well as the American Powertrain T-56 Magnum six speed. The clutch is a RXT Twin Disc from McLeod was working perfect, until I did something to make it not perfect. McLeod has been great trying to help me diagnose the problem. But, it’s necessary to pull the transmission to find the problem, and get to it fixed.

I am so confident in McLeod’s products, I ordered another RXT from them, and will send back the old one to be inspected and rebuilt.

It isn’t like he can’t fix it, but since he’s been wheeling with, and working on, his fullsize rigs they are the ones he’s been keeping going. So to stay with that theme, he’s taking Mom’s Spaghetti, the 1991 Ford F-350 stepside to Moab for EJS. But not before it gets some love. Watch.

Video Description:

It’s time for Easter Jeep Safari again, and my Jeep is still broken from last year. Time to start preparing my 1991 Ford F-350 Mom’s Spaghetti for the trip to Moab Utah. I tackle some issues with the transmission, rear suspension, and even add a little Bling with a metalflake steering wheel.

If you are in Moab for EJS 2024 make sure to stop by the Bestop kickoff party March 25 in the parking lot behind the Food Truck circle downtown. Fred Williams and I will be down there hanging out.

And if you missed the story of getting this little truck, and its history, we encourage you to use the link below to see what it is all about. But in this video he’s taking it upon himself to try and make it run and drive by using as many car batteries as possible. Will it work? Probably. Will it work well? Who the hell knows!

It is incredibly rare to find anyone that daily drives a stick shift car anymore. It’s also rare to find folks that drive classic cars daily. Both in one is almost unheard of, but Scott Liggett is one of those guys that has daily driven a stick shift classic car for most of the past 20 years. In this video he’s installing a McLeod twin disc clutch on a bitchin Blueprint small-block that is going into his 1965 Impala.

At a recent media trade conference with a lot of motorsports parts companies, I had meetings with a couple of clutch companies, including McLeod. In all those meetings, I remarked on the fact that I bet not one single media person in attendance drove a stick car every day, except me. While they did not pole each and every attendee, since the conference had already started, I can say that not one single media person they talked to after speaking with me could say that they did in fact drive a car with a clutch pedal every day.

But we all know that it is WAY more fun to drive a stick car and that it always feels faster than an automatic, even if it isn’t. So that means that a lot of you want a stick in your hot rod and we don’t blame you one bit. So in this video here, Scott is going to show you just how easy it is to install a twin disc clutch. It’s not hard. It’s not something that you can’t handle and should be afraid of. It’s the way to get extreme clamping force with very little pedal effort. It’s THE kind of clutch that makes a huge difference in the performance and drivability of your hot rod.

Video Description:

McLeod Racing makes a whole bunch of different clutches from stock replacement to full race clutches. I have used them for years with great success. Today, we are installing McLeod’s RXT Street Twin in our 1965 Chevy Impala SS. Our Project Evil Orchid Impala has a BluePrint Power Adder 400 with an American Powertrain T-56 Magnum 6 speed transmission.

Today, I will be showing how easy it is to install one of these twin disc clutches from McLeod. They provide super easy to follow instructions, plus they mark each piece so there is no guess work on how these clutches install. Follow along as I install this clutch and get my Impala back on the road.

Centerforce is back with more new products and improvements for the Jeep crowd, as they are always looking to not only build products capable of handling higher power and performance, but also to upgrade factory parts that are problematic. This new internal hydraulic bearing saves Jeep owners the aggravation of bearing noise and failure. Check out all the info below.

The new Centerforce Internal Hydraulic Bearing is designed to eliminate the common JL and JT bearing noises and upgrade OEM clutch components while improving pedal feel and durability

Prescott, Ariz. (Jan. 9, 2024) – Centerforce, a leading manufacturer of performance clutches and flywheels for classic and late-model cars and trucks for over 40 years, has released its new Internal Hydraulic Bearing option for 2018-24 Jeep Wrangler JL and Gladiator JT models equipped with manual transmissions. This new hydraulic throwout bearing is engineered to solve the bearing rattle that commonly affects manual transmissions in late-model Jeeps while improving pedal feel and overall durability by simplifying the clutch’s release mechanism.

The Centerforce Internal Hydraulic Bearing features a wider range of travel as well as steel braided lines with heat shielding and a Jiffy-Tite dry disconnect for easy installation. The bearing acts as both the throwout bearing and the slave cylinder, all in one compact unit, replacing several wear-prone parts known to cause rattling. The simplified release mechanism reduces the number of moving parts and offers even more improved pedal feedback and feel over Centerforce’s existing external bearing system. With a simple installation process, this kit is ideal for JL and JT owners looking to upgrade their clutch systems, especially when paired with Centerforce performance clutches and inertia flywheels.

The Centerforce II (KCFT157077) and Dual Friction (KDF157077) kits are complete clutch packages that now include the new Internal Hydraulic Bearing. These kits feature a one-piece billet steel high inertia flywheel, a Centerforce II or Dual Friction clutch disc and pressure plate, bolts, an alignment tool, a new master cylinder, a braided steel hydraulic line with a dry quick-disconnect fitting and a hydraulic throwout bearing. The JL and JT internal hydraulic bearing package is also available as a stand-alone system with part number 601818.

Watch Centerforce Clutch Hydraulics Options for the Jeep Wrangler JL / Gladiator JT Explained
Centerforce also offers an external hydraulic bearing option in its Centerforce II and Dual Friction kits (KCFT157077 and KDF157077). This option retains the OE design and service parts, making replacement easier in the unlikely case of a failure. This serviceability is important to some Jeep owners, making the external option a better choice for those who prioritize easy access to the hydraulic portion of the clutch. The external hydraulic clutch kit is also available as a stand-alone package with part number 601819.

He makes it look easy, and that’s good, because he shares the tech, the tools, and the reasons for what he does to make sure you’ll be successful when you build your own diffs for your projects. Toyota’s are a pretty straight forward center section to build as far as we know, so lets watch and see.

From the very first moment that anyone saw the design renderings for the Tesla Cybertruck, everyone scratched their head in wonderment. After all, this thing looks like you gave a pencil to a 5 year old and told them to draw a truck. What makes this funny is the fact that Tesla is so technology focused and yet the outside looks so elementary. Since they came out into public recently, everyone is talking about them and everyone has been rushing to be the first with reviews and testing. In this video here we’re going to see one put up in the air with the wheels off so that a complete walk around and chassis inspection can be done. Check it out and let us know what you think of the underside of this one. Is it better than the top side?

Transmissions are one of the things that enthusiasts seem most hesitant to build on their own. Whether you are talking about automatic or manual transmissions, and whether a newbie or the most experienced hot rodder, most are not willing to rebuild their own. But can you save real money by doing a rebuild yourself? And can you learn enough from YouTube videos to do the rebuild yourself? With the price of having a transmission done, it might be the only option for some folks. Watch Project Farm talk about their kit and start this transmission rebuild right here.

Video Description:

Did I waste a bunch of money upgrading my old pickup or should I have spent that money on a new pickup? Before the upgrades, the truck accelerated from 0-60 in 17.08 seconds. Towing 10,000 pounds, the truck accelerated from 0-60 in over 45 seconds. Also, the truck is unable to hold highway speed towing 10,000 pounds climbing a 3-degree grade.

I requested a collaboration with Power Driven Diesel in Cedar City, Utah. A big “thank you” to Will, Todd, Myer, Griffith, Reed, Levi, Pedro, and the rest of the team at Power Driven Diesel for their role in this review. In part 1 of 2, I travel out to Power Driven Diesel for the upgrades. I do not accept sponsorships, and I paid for all of the parts, fluids, etc used to upgrade the engine. In part 2, I rebuild the transmission.

I paid for all of the parts used to upgrade the transmission. I did not and do not receive any form of commission or financial benefit from the sale of Power Driven Diesel parts or services. Here are the links to the parts I purchased for the upgrades. I used 055 delivery valves and not the 025 listed in the engine upgrade kit. I highly recommend calling Power Driven Diesel’s customer support team to discuss upgrades. They are friendly and very helpful.
