The Make It Kustom Model A Ford project is one that regular fans of the channel will know very well. This thing has been used for all kinds of cool tech videos on metal shaping and so much more. We dig this project and think it will be awesome when done. In this video, Karl is going through the process of getting everything steering related in it. That’s fairly straight forward, but this car is ultra custom so that means you can’t just toss the parts at it and hope they install themselves. Watch.

If you have driven enough older GM cars or trucks, you have undoubtedly run into one or two that have screwed up turn signal switches. The normal is that the cam breaks inside the column so the turn signals won’t cancel anymore, or won’t stay on which forces you to hold the stalk anytime you want the signals to work. In this video, Chad from Squarebody Stuff shows us how to fix a steering column with a broken turn signal cam. It’s not hard, but you gotta take a couple things apart, so what and he’ll show you how.

Scott is a longtime stick shift guy, who has done tons of stick shift swaps and has daily driven stick cars for years. So when he made a small mistake on the install of his McLeod RXT clutch during a Magnum 6 speed conversion from American Powertrain, it was sort of disheartening. Thankfully, the gang at McLeod helped him figure out the issue and that’s what the video is about. Check it out.

Video Description:

The clutch I installed in my 65 Chevy Impala, Project Evil Orchid, went bad on day 1 of Rocky Mountain Race Week, RMRW 1.0, last year. I need to find out what happened. What did I do wrong? The BluePrint Engines Power Adder small block 400 has been running great, as well as the American Powertrain T-56 Magnum six speed. The clutch is a RXT Twin Disc from McLeod was working perfect, until I did something to make it not perfect. McLeod has been great trying to help me diagnose the problem. But, it’s necessary to pull the transmission to find the problem, and get to it fixed.

I am so confident in McLeod’s products, I ordered another RXT from them, and will send back the old one to be inspected and rebuilt.

Well we’re continuing to hit as many engine high points as we can over the course of the “muscle car” months this year. Today, being 3/26, we’re going to pay some homage to the little 326ci Pontiac V8 that as found in a bunch of Ponchos over its life from 1963-1967. The vast, vast majority of 326 engines were sent out of the factory doors with 2bbl carbs on top of them but later in the lifespan of the engine there was an HO version that had a four barrel carb, dual exhaust and more compression giving it 280hp and a bump in torque that made it more fun in cars like the LeMans. It gave people an option below the mighty 400ci engines that were famously powering those machines.

The 326 was interesting because it was created by Pontiac to fill the gap left by Pontiac pulling the 215ci Buick engine it was offering in the Tempest up until 1963. The first version of the engine had a 3.75″ bore and a 3.78″ stroke which actually had it measuring 336ci. There was a 250hp and 260hp version available and both were breathing through 2bbl carbs.

In 1964, GM passed a rule that intermediate cars were limited to 330ci and that resulted in a bore reduction to 3.72″ and a true 326ci displacement. It was at this point that the engine was optional in Tempests and then later in the Pontiac Firebird.

The 280hp version was offered for a couple of model years before being sent off to pasture.

While the 326 was not a “muscle car” engine, it was a good, solid piece that had all the reliability and engineering that those muscle car engines had. They were tough as nails and served as good “prime movers” for the majority of passenger Pontiacs during the middle 1960s. A yeoman’s engine, it was overshadowed by the larger and sexier 389s and 400s but people still love them today.

Rocker arms are considerable less work to replace than a camshaft, even on an LS engine which is a lot easier to cam swap, so if they are worth the same power as a camshaft then why not just do the rocker arm swap? Richard Holdener is going to do cam swap vs rocker arm swap testing in the video below, so check it out and see if a rocker arm swap is what you need, or if you should just go straight to the cam swap.

Oil is one of those products that you can buy at a bunch of different price points, and that have insane marketing campaigns to tell you why their brand is best and why it all matters so much. And as if it weren’t enough to have Pennzoil, Valvoline, and Mobil 1, and all the other brands telling you how important it is to use good brand name oil, you also get it from whoever built your car. If you actually look at the manual, a lot of OE’s actually call for their brand of oil to be used when you do your oil changes. And with many new cars coming with maintenance included, those brands of oil are what the dealership is going to use. But are they good? Are they worth using? Or are they actually better than other name brand oil?

In the video below, Project Farm is going to put several OE oils through their paces, including oil analysis, so check it out and see how they stack up against Mobil 1. What do you think? OE Oil or aftermarket?

This one is going to be fun, not only because it is a cool car that Dennis and Deb put together years ago, but also because when Dennis and Alex started tearing into it to find out what the problems had been with it years and years ago, it turned out to not be a big deal at all. I mean at all at all. So Alex gave her dad a bunch of crap for parking this thing and leaving it, and now he’s all fired up to get this thing back into racing shape. But what kind of changes do you think Dennis will make to it this time?

Video Description:

You guys say you want more videos and more projects – and we’re delivering! Welcome to the new section of the Riding with Alex Taylor Channel, where more episode with different content will come out. We’re pulling out forgotten projects, ones left to sit, and starting new ones. And we’re kicking it off with this 41 Willys Gasser with a 392 Blown Alcohol Hemi! This is the LAST Willys that Deb and Den every laid up out of their molds. It became a tribute car to the iconic Stone Woods and Cooks Willys of the past, got dad back into racing, and then it got parked after the Hemi kept giving fits. This is a good one, so buckle up!

I mean I’m a Chevrolet guy so I’d probably choose some other body style, but this thing is dead simple, kinda ugly, and all the important stuff is underneath it. I dig this thing and want something similar. As he’s been getting ready for next week’s Easter Jeep Safari in Moab, he’s been checking things off the list that Mom’s Spaghetti needed and today it is seats, console, and a few other tweaks.

Video Description:

I built cars for decades with nothing more than jackstands, floor jacks, and an old frame jack that was my Grandpa’s. It was about 10 years ago that I got a lift of my own, which is a game changer, but if I had been smart I would have built myself a set of wheel cribs decades ago. These can be found in most every professional car builder shop and are ultra cheap to build even if you use new 2×4’s.

In the video below from Backyard Hot Rods you’ll see one method for putting these together. You can find lots of videos online with folks doing them, because ultimately they are super simple. If you have an impact driver and some screws, you can put these together. Ultimately you don’t even have to have a saw as you can have your 2×4’s cut at Home Depot or Lowes.

Check out this super simple design. You can also make additional small stacks to fit onto these to lift the car even higher, but keep in mind that anything over 12 inches is a little sketchy when it comes to jacking up the car in one lift. So lift it up and put all four tires on your 12 inch tall cribs and then lift again to place another 6 inches under each corner.

Video Description:

I have two projects that I need the car up in the air while the load of the car being on the wheels and tires. Making a set of wheel cribs is my best option to solve the problem. I go through step by step to show you how I made them, what tools to use and exactly how much wood. Plus I go into detail on why I built them the way I did.

I’ve recently seen some cars that seemed impossible to bring back to life end up being beautiful rides. With the amount of restoration parts available, you can build a lot of muscle cars from scratch nowadays, with zero factory parts. To be honest, it has made it so that cars that otherwise would have been considered a total loss can be brought back to life if the vin and firewall and title are good. Everything else can be cut off and replaced!

So when Dylan asks if his 1969 Charger can be brought back to life after sitting all these years, I say SURE! Check out the first video in the build.
