This little box here is a game changer! If you are someone who’s got a muscle car, street machine, classic truck, or custom, and you are doing a Holley EFI swap but don’t want to put a flat screen lcd screen in your dash because you prefer the look of real gauges, this is going to be your dream box. In the past, if you wanted to run “traditional” gauges with your EFI equipped ride you would need to have multiple sending units on the engine because the EFI computer would need one and so would your gauge. In some cases you might literally have two of each kind of sending unit which just makes for more work, expense, chance of failure, etc. But with this cool setup from Classic, you can pull all the data you need from the ECU of your Holley EFI and then send that info straight to your favorite Classic Instruments so that you get all your engine vitals on the gauges you know and love.

Classic Instruments Releases Zeus-Link Gauge Interface Module
Boyne City, MI, March 20th, 2024 — Classic Instruments is pleased to announce the release of an all-new CAN
module, Zeus-Link. Zeus-Link is an all-inclusive gauge interface unit that can connect to Holley ECU’s
(Dominator, HP, Terminator X, Terminator X Max, Sniper and Sniper II) and to GM OBDII ports, reading vehicle data
from CAN BUS to drive any Classic Instruments gauges accurately. Additional pass-through CAN port connection for
other CAN devices. Customers can connect up to 6 standard gauges and 2 auxiliary gauges using all sender inputs
or none. All instruments can be driven traditionally if the vehicle ECU does not support an output the driver wants
to monitor. The unit features warning and check engine light outputs, dash light connection and on-board
diagnostic lights to give status of power, BLE, and data. For maximum compatibility with Holley products, there is
an additional resistor available if there are other CAN devices on the same harness and the Holley harness has an
additional Holley ECU connector for other devices.

The entire unit is setup and managed through an app available on the App Store® or Google Play®. Configure which
gauges are in the dash, how each gets its signal, view values being received by Zeus-Link, and verify correct
outputs and wiring all through the app.

ARP Expands Lineup Of Special Bolt Hole Cleaning Chaser Taps – Clean Threaded Holes Quick And Easy Without Damaging Threads

When you get ready to assemble an engine or it’s components, cleanliness is one of the most important things. Trash on surfaces can cause issues with how bearings sit, can send stuff through the oil, and more. But one of the places people often overlook are bolt holes. And it doesn’t matter if your engine is used, new, or fresh from the machine shop, you need to check all the threaded holes and make sure they are clean. Unfortunately, spraying brake clean into the holes and then blowing them out with air isn’t enough. You need to run a thread chaser into or through each and every bolt hole. And the right tool matters.

Some folks skip chasing threads because they aren’t comfortable running a tap through them for fear of messing up the threads. And with good reason! This is NOT the right tool. A thread chaser is a tool specifically designed to run through the threads but without any cutting action. The flutes on the sides of them are there to remove any dirt and foreign material within the holes, but without causing any damage to the threads themselves and you can buy them at lots of tool stores. Not all thread chasers are the same however.

Higher quality tools, like those from ARP, have much more precise tolerances so they are much more effective at cleaning the threads. They also have much deeper threads than many of the others that are available and that cleans a lot more effectively. You need the threads to be clean so that you get accurate torque, stretch, or yield measurements when assembling engines. If there is dirt in those threads that keep your rod bolt from being tightened properly, it’s going to cause serious engine failure. And the same can be said for any critical fastener in your engine.

Do it. Clean them. Use the right tools.

Properly preparing engine blocks, cylinder heads and
other components for assembly should include thoroughly
cleaning all threaded apertures. Debris can severely
compromise accurately preloading a fastener, which is why
ARP offers specially designed “chaser” taps. They are not
designed to cut threads; only clean them.
ARP has expanded its tap offerings to include some
22 different sizes (SAE and metric), plus combination sets
that feature the most popular sizes.
Along with using “chaser” taps, engine builders can
rely on ARP Ultra-Torque® fastener lubricant to obtain
accurate fastener preloading. Extensive laboratory tests
show it to be far superior to oil, moly, EPL and other
substances in delivering 95-100% of the desired preload in
the first (and any subsequent) “pull” of the torque wrench.

Rarely does a product come along that just blows you away in the first couple minutes of using them, but that is exactly the case with the RetroBright headlights. A properly functioning crankcase ventilation system is key to making sure your engine stays a happy camper. In a factory style setup the OEs use what is called a Positive Crankcase Ventilation system rather than just venting it out to the atmosphere. They do not cost horsepower, are simple and clean and are the system I recommend for anyone that isn’t building a race car. Machined from aluminum and coated in a durable black anodized finish, our PCV fitting fits into the OE grommet hole, replacing the stock PCV fitting without any modification. Originally designed for LS engines, it can also be installed on any system that utilizes a ¾” i.d. PCV grommet in the valve cover.
