Here’s our final gallery from Scott Liggett’s visit to the Pioneer Village Show in Nebraska. If you missed any, use the link below to check them all out!

(Words and Photos by Scott Liggett) As summer car show season was ending, we were pumped to head to the first ever car at Harold Warp’s Pioneer Village in Minden, NE. The museum has been around since 1953, but they never hosted a car show. We headed there with a bunch of friends to see some cool cars, but to wander around Pioneer Village again as car show entrants got into the museum for free that day.

Harold Warp is a son of a homesteader family that came to Minden, NE in the 1880’s from Norway. The youngest of 12 children, he didn’t stay on the farm. He and his brothers went off to Chicago to find success in plastic type windows, inventing Flex-O-Glass, and establishing Warp Bros Company. Harold came back to his home town in the 50’s to establish a unique museum that shows how life progressed on the prairies of Nebraska from sod houses, like he was born in, to modern living. It has everything from old buildings, trains, tractors, everything for homes, anything for work on farms, and of course a ton of cars and trucks.
For people who grew up in Nebraska and Kansas anytime in the last 60 years, the family heading off to Pioneer Village was a part of life. Anyone who drove across Nebraska or northern Kansas would’ve seen the 100’s of hand painted billboards on every highway and freeway within 100 mile radius of Minden.
Your author grew up in Nebraska, but I think my parents were uncultured heathens as we never went here. I had always heard about it, but never went. My first time at Pioneer Village was in 2018 on my way home from Rocky Mountain Race Week. I hadn’t been back. And, going to a car show there was just an added bonus.
Check out our galleries of the car show and those of the museum itself. And, if you are ever cruising through the middle of Nebraska, get out of the car for a break and check out the museum.

Our final gallery of photos from the Lyon Museum is below, but if you missed the previous photos then use the link below to check them out too. This is a special show that features some awesome hot rods, race cars, and more, all alongside amazing historic airplanes. The Lyon Museum is really something special, and like the Lyon’s Drag Racing Museum it is available for special events as well. Can you imagine getting married in a place like this with all the cool cars and planes? This is some seriously rad stuff.

(Photos by Wes Allison) Hot Rods and Airplanes go hand in hand and this show at Santa Ana’s Lyon Air Museum has them sitting side by side yet again. We loved sharing this show with all of you last year, and once again Wes was on hand shooting photos to share. Check out all the great cars that were on hand in our first gallery from the show.

The Lyon Air Museum, located in Santa Ana California, has some of the coolest World War II aircraft you are going to find anywhere. And now through September 4th the museum is celebrating with the Santa Ana Drags and Beyond, America’s First Official Dragstrip, Summer Exhibit.

There are some really cool cars and trucks that are on display and we’ve got photos of all of them thanks to Wes Allison. He shot all the wheeled wonders on display, along with some seriously cool planes. This museum is full of a great group of aircraft, and I just wish I had been there to check it all out.

Here’s our third gallery of photos from the show, and let me tell you there was some super cool stuff on hand. We’re talking awesome race cars, customs, and hot rods of all kinds. If you missed our previous photos, then use the link below.

(Photos by Wes Allison) – Ed Iskenderian recently turned 102 years old! If that was all I wrote, and we just showed pictures of him actually breathing, you’d be impressed. But the fact that this icon in motorsports is still going strong, and had a killer birthday full of race cars, is pretty badass. Our own Wes Allison was on hand to shoot photos and we can’t thank him enough. When Isky turned 100, the world lost its mind, and I’m not sure folks really thought they have to put on more than one or two more birthday parties for him, but at this point, they better start planning 103!

I mean when a guy like Isky turns 102 you have to do a better job than you did on the 101 party don’t you?

I have some great personal Isky stories and have had some great conversations, gotten him out of hot water, and laughed my ass off with him. The dude is legit and he’s still alive and kicking and we love him for it.

Ed Iskenderian has lived an amazingly impactful life and we thank him for it and appreciate all the folks that came out to celebrate with him. We’ve got a bunch of photos from the show and party, so check out the gallery below.
