The Make It Kustom Model A Ford project is one that regular fans of the channel will know very well. This thing has been used for all kinds of cool tech videos on metal shaping and so much more. We dig this project and think it will be awesome when done. In this video, Karl is going through the process of getting everything steering related in it. That’s fairly straight forward, but this car is ultra custom so that means you can’t just toss the parts at it and hope they install themselves. Watch.

It isn’t like he can’t fix it, but since he’s been wheeling with, and working on, his fullsize rigs they are the ones he’s been keeping going. So to stay with that theme, he’s taking Mom’s Spaghetti, the 1991 Ford F-350 stepside to Moab for EJS. But not before it gets some love. Watch.

Video Description:

It’s time for Easter Jeep Safari again, and my Jeep is still broken from last year. Time to start preparing my 1991 Ford F-350 Mom’s Spaghetti for the trip to Moab Utah. I tackle some issues with the transmission, rear suspension, and even add a little Bling with a metalflake steering wheel.

If you are in Moab for EJS 2024 make sure to stop by the Bestop kickoff party March 25 in the parking lot behind the Food Truck circle downtown. Fred Williams and I will be down there hanging out.

With all the work that has gone into this thing to make it run and drive for the first time in 50 years, it is great to see that the IronTrap boys are also making sure it looks like the hot rod that the originally builder probably envisioned. With the front and rear lowering job and the new 331 Caddy for power, one of the other things that it needs is a bit of a top chop. So that is exactly what they are going to do in this video. Check it out.

In a previous videos we shared the 1938 Ford Convertible Hot Rod that the guys at Iron Trap Garage found stashed away in an old garage, gave a first wash, and discovered had a seized engine. But lucky for them, they had a bitchin 331 Caddy they scored that would work great after some firewall massaging. Then the rear axle to get some love cause this thing was not good, and they lowered the rear in the process. If you missed any of the previous videos in this series, use the link below to check them all out.

You have to think that if there are barn finds of all kinds that still show up today, not all of them are going to just be regular driver cars. What I mean by this is that some of them have to be hot rods too, right? I realize that you’d think most of the hot rods would keep being passed along, but I know I’ve got projects that haven’t seen the light of day in 10 years, so it is conceivable that this same thing could happen to other folks hot rods and that we’ll have barn find hot rods too. And that is exactly what happened with this 1938 Ford Convertible. It hasn’t been on the road since 1973 and is a hot rod that had an engine swap and more.

Barn finds are awesome, but sometimes they are so horrible looking that you wonder if they can ever look good again without a complete restoration. I’m a big fan of patina, but sometimes a car just looks crappy instead of looking cool. Sometimes there is a point at which the car doesn’t look “bad enough” to have a good patina, but doesn’t look good enough to just feel worn.

In this video, a barn find 1969 Mustang that has been sitting in a barn with lots of mice and birds for the past 20 years, is getting its first bath in at leas that long. And boy does it need it! There is A LOT of evidence of mice on the insides of the car and birds on the outside as they have crapped all over the hood. Some paint is missing, there are some rust spots, and this car is in fact going to get a full restoration, but getting it as clean as is reasonable will not only make the start of the restoration easier, but will also give a better idea of how much is needed to make this car cool again.

Watch the video and let us know what you think about how it turned out.

Here’s Part 2 of the chassis work on Leo’s 1936 Ford, and in this one the custom rear frame rails are coming together along with the rear suspension, including a custom 4-link, bag and shock brackets, and more. Bellos uses their small CNC plasma table to the fullest, and Mike is designing the rear frame rails so that they can be cut and formed with the press brake to make cool tubular rails that narrow the rear for more tire and will allow the entire thing to sit flat on the ground. There is some great fabrication going on here, so check it out in the latest video below. And if you missed the first video, make sure you use the link to see the one you might have missed.

The Bellos Kustoms crew are jamming on another project and this time it’s a little different. They’re taking what looks like a pretty clean 1936 Ford Chassis and building an LS swapped, air ride equipped, low down hot rod out of it. That means prepping the chassis, measuring, cutting, and more and that’s before any of the actual fabrication got started. There are some surprises on this one when it comes to rust so some repairs are needed before the real fun can begin. But that real fun is going to include a lot.

It’s getting a step notch out back so it can lay on the ground when parked, and that also means custom rear suspension. In order to fit everything underneath, a custom x member will have to be built as well since the factory one is junk and will just get in the way.

And that doesn’t even account for the LS swap that will make WAY more power than this thing was ever expected to live with and so all of that has to be taken into account. It’s going to look traditional on the outside and be modern and powerful underneath, so watch as they go through Part 1 of the chassis build, with more to come.

Video Description:

When we swapped in the rear end into the 1938 Ford we installed an @oldyankeespeedco reverse eye main leaf spring, and it is sitting perfectly. Today we are going to do the same to the front end! To make the process easier, Mike pulled some spare parts from the warehouse so Matt could assemble another front axle on the bench. This way the 38 could still be moved until the swap was ready. Matt and Steve get to work building the axle and swapping it around. The final product is amazing!!
