The Make It Kustom Model A Ford project is one that regular fans of the channel will know very well. This thing has been used for all kinds of cool tech videos on metal shaping and so much more. We dig this project and think it will be awesome when done. In this video, Karl is going through the process of getting everything steering related in it. That’s fairly straight forward, but this car is ultra custom so that means you can’t just toss the parts at it and hope they install themselves. Watch.

If you have driven enough older GM cars or trucks, you have undoubtedly run into one or two that have screwed up turn signal switches. The normal is that the cam breaks inside the column so the turn signals won’t cancel anymore, or won’t stay on which forces you to hold the stalk anytime you want the signals to work. In this video, Chad from Squarebody Stuff shows us how to fix a steering column with a broken turn signal cam. It’s not hard, but you gotta take a couple things apart, so what and he’ll show you how.

Iron Trap’s Hidden 1938 Ford Convertible Hot Rod: Chopping 3″ Out Of The Windshield Because It Is The Right Thing To Do!

With all the work that has gone into this thing to make it run and drive for the first time in 50 years, it is great to see that the IronTrap boys are also making sure it looks like the hot rod that the originally builder probably envisioned. With the front and rear lowering job and the new 331 Caddy for power, one of the other things that it needs is a bit of a top chop. So that is exactly what they are going to do in this video. Check it out.

In a previous videos we shared the 1938 Ford Convertible Hot Rod that the guys at Iron Trap Garage found stashed away in an old garage, gave a first wash, and discovered had a seized engine. But lucky for them, they had a bitchin 331 Caddy they scored that would work great after some firewall massaging. Then the rear axle to get some love cause this thing was not good, and they lowered the rear in the process. You have to think that if there are barn finds of all kinds that still show up today, not all of them are going to just be regular driver cars. What I mean by this is that some of them have to be hot rods too, right? I realize that you’d think most of the hot rods would keep being passed along, but I know I’ve got projects that haven’t seen the light of day in 10 years, so it is conceivable that this same thing could happen to other folks hot rods and that we’ll have barn find hot rods too. And that is exactly what happened with this 1938 Ford Convertible. It hasn’t been on the road since 1973 and is a hot rod that had an engine swap and more.

Every Mythbusters fan on the planet knows Adam Savage and knows that he’s a pretty sharp, and incredibly creative, guy who thinks outside the box sometimes. If you aren’t familiar with his YouTube channel, you might not know about the projects he does in his awesome workshop that he refers to as the cave. And while it is larger than some folks have, it is NOT a big workshop in the grand scheme of things. That means he needs to be very smart when it comes to organizing his tools, equipment, and supplies, so in this video he is modifying and improving his hardware storage system with some pretty smart ideas.

If you are like me and are in the process of working on organizational plans for your garage or workshop, then this is going to be a video that inspires you at the least and may even give you the storage solution you need in your garage.

DIY Wheel Painting Tech: How To Paint Your Wheels For Cheap, But With Professional Results!

While paint has changed a ton in the last 20 years, it is still intimidating to paint certain parts for your project car or truck. Frames and suspension parts are generally no big deal, whether you rattle can them, brush them, or have them powder coated, there are lots of options. And because they are under the car you don’t worry about them being “perfect” I suppose. But when you are talking about wheels, that can be a bit intimidating. If you have a pair of steelies with hubcaps and trim rings, that just need a fresh coat of black or white, maybe not, but if you are going for a color, or on wheels that are going to stand out, it’s nerve wracking sometimes.

But the truth is that the products we have available to us for use at home, are insanely advanced compared to spray paint or professional paints even 10 years ago. That means that you can buy readily available products from a bunch of different sources and get really nice results, even on those fancy wheels. But there are some tips and tricks that will definitely help make the best results.

This Abandoned Barn Find 1969 Mustang Looks Horrible After 20 Years Of Bird Crap. Can A Detail Job Actually Make A Difference?

Barn finds are awesome, but sometimes they are so horrible looking that you wonder if they can ever look good again without a complete restoration. I’m a big fan of patina, but sometimes a car just looks crappy instead of looking cool. Sometimes there is a point at which the car doesn’t look “bad enough” to have a good patina, but doesn’t look good enough to just feel worn.

In this video, a barn find 1969 Mustang that has been sitting in a barn with lots of mice and birds for the past 20 years, is getting its first bath in at leas that long. And boy does it need it! There is A LOT of evidence of mice on the insides of the car and birds on the outside as they have crapped all over the hood. Some paint is missing, there are some rust spots, and this car is in fact going to get a full restoration, but getting it as clean as is reasonable will not only make the start of the restoration easier, but will also give a better idea of how much is needed to make this car cool again.
